First Blog Post!

Dear future readers,

I don't really know how this whole blogging idea is going to work out for me, but I'll give it a try. For my first post, I'll just keep you up to date with a little bit of what has gone on in my life this semester. My biggest interest this semester has been my sorority, Alpha Sigma Tau. (The photo attached below is my pledge class on bid day, back in September.)

I just rushed this year and ended up being my pledge class' president, overseeing 58 wonderful ladies. I was initiated at the end of October and have already been a part of many exciting events and I simply cannot wait for the upcoming years.

On October 9, 2010, I turned the big 2-1. Having a fall birthday means the majority of my friends have birthdays that fall after mine. Although my birthday wasn't the big bash that I had hoped it to be, I still had a tonnn of fun. It conveniently fell on SIUE's homecoming game day so I got to hang out and tailgate with many friends of all ages and then went out to the bars with some of my 'of-age' friends later in the evening. Here I am a little after midnight:

The first bar I went to was "Humphrey's" off of SLU's campus, at midnight the night "before" my birthday, day. Humphrey's gives 21st birthday shots in "plunger" form. Please tell me why it's fun to take home a souvenir plunger from a bar?

I don't know, but it is. It's pretty damn amusing and memorable to say that your first legal shot was taken out of a miniature plunger. Our bathroom is currently accompanied by it, although I'm not too sure how well it's going to come into handy if the toilet clogs...

More from October... My Aunt Susie got married on October 2nd. I spent the weekend up in my birth town, Elkhart, Indiana with a lot of family that I rarely get to see, especially all together at once. The wedding was beautiful, but what could you expect from such a beautiful bride? I'm so happy for them and am proud to call Tim my newest uncle. :]

The Geggie grandchildren with Grandma and Grandma, minus Takoma and Trevor.

Well that's enough for now... And I only got through October. I'll post again soon with more from this semester.

Xoxo,
Paige
